Our Take

The new Tecton X 3 is a shoe focused on going as fast as possible over long distances no matter what the terrain.  The parallel carbon fiber plates have been redesigned with winglets for added stability on rough terrain and the two layers of PEBA in the midsole – Hoka’s lightest and most resilient midsole, make the Tecton X 3 feel alive even when your legs are dying.  Redesigned lug shape and positioning on a Vibram® Megagrip with Litebase outsole provide better traction, while a dynamic vamp allows feet to splay as the miles add up.  Topping it off, a knit collar extends up from the tongue like a gaiter to mitigate trail debris, and a lightweight Matryx® textile upper makes this version of the Tecton X more durable than previous versions.
