Our Take 

The 880 series is one of our most reliable daily trainers season after season.  Ideally suited for the neutral runner or walker, the 880 still has enough overall structure for those who need a little more stability for extended miles. 

This season the new 880 went though some big updates, starting with the midsole.  The newly formulated Fresh Foam X midsole is now 2mm thicker, giving extra cushioning and bounce in a lighter package than previous seasons.  The heel-to-toe drop has also been lowered to 8mm which effectively allows New Balance to add more cushioning to the forefoot without the shoe feeling too high off the ground.

The new one piece engineered mesh upper completes the package with a great fit that seamlessly meshes with almost any foot thanks to the four widths available.
