New Balance Men's Fuelcell Rebel V4
Our Take
The FuelCell Rebel V3 was a great lightweight trainer that could handle some miles and quickly became a staff favorite for the swift of foot, but what we like about the V4 is the increased versatility in both fit and function.
The big change comes in the form of a new midsole. With the introduction of a supercritical PEBA blend FuelCell foam the V4 has a whole new feel that we think is far superior than previous versions. And with more underfoot cushioning and a slightly wider platform runners can feel more confident putting in more kilometers. One note is the V4 does have a bit more width and volume to the upper so also fits a slightly wider foot than it did previously.
Although not plated (although the shoe has a nice stiff forefoot for a strong push off) the Rebel V4 makes a great race day shoe at a price much more affordable than the carbon options currently available.
