Our Take 

The Hoka Texton X is a performance-oriented trail runner that is versatile enough to adapt to most conditions although it is best suited for dry conditions and hard packed trails.  Packed with features, what stands out most is the dual carbon plate paired with the ProFly X midsole.  These two parallel carbon plates provide a very peppy ride but act independently and therefore have enough flex laterally to adapt to rougher terrain.  The slightly wider platform also adds stability as runners fight fatigue during longer runs and the slightly wider forefoot will be appreciated by many.

Technology

• Vibram Megagrip and strategically placed 4mm lugs are aggressive enough to tackle most any terrain but performs especially well on dry and hard surfaces.
• ProFly X is a combination of two different layers of midsole. Directly underneath the foot is soft and flexible for maximum comfort and the bottom layer is lightweight and responsive, providing a balance between cushioning and speed.
• Two parallel running carbon plates provide a springy toe off and lateral stability.
• Engineered mesh upper provides great lock down.
